Basic Allowance For Housing (BAH)
Your BAH will be used in one of two ways. You can either rent on base or you can live off base. If you live off base, you can either rent or buy. Click Here for current BAH rates.
On Base Housing ( Rent On-Base )

Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton is the one of the Department of Defense’s largest training facilities for active and reserve Marines, Army and Navy units as well as local agencies. Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton is home to the I Marine Expeditionary Force and many other training commands. Camp Pendleton is located in San Diego County near Oceanside, California. Camp Pendleton covers over 120,000 acres and offers training for all branches of the military year round. Housing at Camp Pendleton offers over 6,700 housing units, and military personnel must register with the Base Housing Office located in Building 200011. If service members qualify for BAH, the housing office can help find available properties located off-post in the surrounding communities. Apartment complexes are another option for those wanting to rent a home. Call the housing office at 760-725-6246 prior to making any lease or rental agreement. For Marines and Navy with a rank of E-6 through E-9, bachelor housing is available with 46 available rooms. If on-post housing is full, soldiers can opt to live off base. The Bachelor Enlisted Quarters are a mandatory assignment for those military personnel E-5 or below who are single service members.
Temporary housing is available at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton in two lodging facilities: Ward Lodging which is located in Building 1310 offers private baths and coin-operated laundry facilities. There are 80 units with kitchenettes and most offer a military discount. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance by calling 760-725-5304. The South Mesa Lodge is another temporary housing option with over 65 rooms equipped with kitchenettes. Guest quarters at Camp Pendleton are located in Building 210440 and Building 1341 and 1341 for all enlisted and officers. Discounted rates are offered in bachelor quarters if the single service member is not receiving a basic housing allowance (BAH). To contact the South Mesa Lodge for reservations, call 760-763-7805.
